High School Football season in jeopardy, Judson may be out first two games
AUSTIN The start of the 2020 high school football season in South Texas is very much in jeopardy. That order, if upheld, would cancel the first two weeks of the high school football season in Travis County and have rippling affects across the state. San Antonio schools regularly compete against Austin-area schools early in the regular season. Of particular note, the Judson Rockets had been scheduled to play Lake Travis in the second week of the season on Sept. 4. Williams also revealed that Judson was already in talks to cancel their season-opener against DeSoto due to the surging COVID-19 pandemic.
Judson and North East School Districts suspend summer strength and conditioning camps
SAN ANTONIO The Judson and North East School Districts have joined the Harlandale and Edgewood School Districts in suspending their summer strength and conditioning camps starting on Monday. The suspension is a result of the alarming increase in positive coronavirus tests in the greater San Antonio area. Judson head coach Rodney Williams confirmed with the The Fuel, Judsons student newspaper, that the school district will shut down their strength and conditioning camps at least until July 13 while continuing to monitor the situation. JUST IN: Judson Athletics suspends summer workouts. Harlandale became the first area school district to shut down their summer program on June 17, followed by Edgewood on June 22.
