Driver extracted from vehicle after crash into tanker truck dies from injuries, police say
SAN ANTONIO โ A 45-year-old man who had to be cut from his vehicle after he crashed into a tanker truck Wednesday morning has died from his injuries, San Antonio police said. The crash occurred around 1 a.m. in the 10500 block of Roosevelt Avenue, not far from Loop 410 on the cityโs South Side. The driver, identified as 44-year-old, Angel Baltazar, was traveling southbound on Roosevelt Avenue at a high rate of speed when he crashed his pickup truck into a tanker truck pulling out of a refinery, police said. He was extracted from his vehicle by firefighters and taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in critical condition. Police did not say exactly why the crash happened.
SAPD: Woman found shot on side of road, gunman at large
SAN ANTONIO โ San Antonio police are investigating after a woman was found shot on the side of the road late Tuesday night. Officers were called to 99th Street near Roosevelt Avenue and found a woman with a gunshot wound. According to police, witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area, but upon a search, no one was located. The 43-year-old woman was taken to an area hospital for her injuries. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
