Man killed in crash on I-35 involving 18-wheeler, tow truck identified

Kevin Flye, 44, died Wednesday, medical examiner says

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office has identified the man killed in an 18-wheeler accident on Interstate 35 Wednesday night.

44-year-old Kevin Flye died after becoming trapped in a work convoy after a semi-truck rear-ended it -- before landing on top of the truck.

The crash was reported around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 35 near Somerset Road on the city's South Side.

Authorities said two other injured victims were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions are not available.

The southbound lanes of the interstate were closed for nearly nine hours as officials worked at the scene.
