Procession to be held Sunday

SAN ANTONIO – A group of children are seeing the fruits of their labor as they honor their faith.

Children at the Guadalupe Community Center have been cultivating a flower garden to produce hundreds of flower petals.

The petals will be used in the Archdiocese of San Antonio’s annual Feast of Corpus Christi Procession.

The flower garden has been nurtured by the children in an act of service to their community and faith.

"This gives them some hands-on experience, not only the garden that grows but keeping the flowers cultivating in a way, knowing that the Lord is going to be walking on these pedals. And so I think that's a great incentive,” said Tom Hood, director of the Guadalupe Community Center.

On Saturday, the children will prepare the flower petals for the procession scheduled to take place Sunday.
