Director reveals new 'Wonder Woman'

Gal Gadot will play the heroine

SAN ANTONIO – With a crowd of comic book fans eager to get a glimpse of the characters or hint of the plot in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, director Zack Snyder managed to leave San Diego's Comic Con with a tiny taste of the film: a peek at what his movie's Wonder Woman will look like.

Kids, this is not your mother's Wonder Woman.

The heroine brought to life on the small screen by Lynda Carter in the 1970s was patriotic, with a red and gold top and blue bottom with white stars. She has gold bracelets and red boots.

Gal Gadot's version is not nearly as colorful, with her monotoned strapless one-piece uniform and matching boots.

The dark-colored palette is reflected in the film and its other characters.

Ben Affleck plays Batman and Henry Cavill plays Superman.

The Hollywood Reporter said neither men was allowed to speak at the annual convention to keep from spilling the movie's secrets.

Snyder did release a brief teaser of the film, which is still in production. It can be seen here.

Snynder released the image of the updated Wonder Woman on Twitter over the weekend.

The movie is expected to be released May 6, 2016.

Updates on the film are being posted on its official Facebook page.
