San Antonio food truck competing in national competition

Flavor Favs: Crazy Carl's

SAN ANTONIO – Located at 14530 Roadrunner Way, Crazy Carl's has been in the food truck scene in San Antonio for the past four years.

Two friends created the idea for the truck and named it after a middle school friend they actually haven't seen in years.

"Carl was a guy Shane and I grew up with," owner Adrew Samia said. He was a super out there crazy kind of dude."

The truck specializes in burgers and hand cut fries. The most popular item on the menu is the Luther Burger. It is a bacon cheese burger with grilled glazed donuts as the buns.

This year Thomas English Muffins selected Crazy Carl's as part of their breakfast battle.

50 food trucks were selected across the country and each truck has to create a dish using a Thomas product.

Crazy Carl's has created a brisket and potato hash breakfast sandwich, that also includes cheese, an egg and all of it is on an English muffin.

Voting has already started. Visit www.thomasbreakfastbattle.com and click on Crazy Carl's sandwich. To try out the sandwich or any burger on the menu just head to The Block, Wednesday-Sunday.
