Damage to home at Glamis, Clark avenues estimated at around $10,000

SAN ANTONIO – Two people escaped a house fire Friday morning on the city's Southeast Side.

The fire was reported around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Glamis and Clark avenues near East Southcross Boulevard.

Battalion Chief Robert Mikel said the fire started when some combustibles that were too close to the hot water heater ignited.

The fire spread into the attic, Mikel said.

A person suffered minor burns when he tried to put the fire out with a garden hose, Mikel said.

Damage was estimated at $10,000.
