A newly-released study says San Antonio drivers in 2011 spent roughly the same amount of time sitting in traffic during the entire year as they spent at work during a 40-hour week.
Those are some of the findings of the 2012 Urban Mobility Report released by the Texas Transportation Institute at Texas A&M University.
The study also says that drivers in the Alamo City used 16 extra gallons of gas because of traffic delays.
On KSAT's Facebook page, viewers seemed to agree on three main intersections that cause problems for drivers: Loop 1604 and Highway 281, 1604 and Interstate 35, and Loop 410 and Highway 151.
At 1604 and 281, the $131 million project to connect the highways via ramps is nearly complete. The project should last another six to eight weeks, according to the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority.
Drivers can expect periodic delays during that time for resurfacing on the main lanes of 1604 and 281,
At 1604 and I-35, drivers must contend with a ramp closure at Forum Parkway, which is expected to last six months.
The Texas Department of Transportation says the closure is part of the project to bridge traffic on I-35 North headed toward Forum Parkway over traffic along 1604 headed to North I-35.
TxDOT says while it is aware that the interchange of 410 and 151 is a trouble spot for drivers, there are no projects planned to make any changes there.
A TxDOT spokesman says it is a matter of coming up with funding.
