WHY ARE YOU RUNNING FOR CITY COUNCIL?  It's time for a different type of leader for District 2, one that connects people to city hall and builds bridges to opportunities instead of buildings that don't economically empower the people in the District.

HAVE YOU RUN FOR CITY COUNCIL BEFORE?  No

WHAT PREVIOUS LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?  I have served as Administrator of a High School, Coach of Middle and High School Students, I have provided leadership in my Faith Base Community and served as Project Director for a Summer Jobs Program.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH IF ELECTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL?  I want to bring unity within the community, responsiveness in constituent's services, efficiency and fairness in the delivery of services.

WHAT ARE THE MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGES FACING THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO? Growth, a prepared workforce and sustainable economic development within certain neighborhoods.

WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST OBSTACLES FACING ECONOMIC GROWTH IN SAN ANTONIO?  Not being able to maintain talented young people that are born and raised in San Antonio. Not seeing a clear agenda for the economic strategy for the entire city. Economic Development appears to be fragmented.

WHAT CAN THE CITY COUNCIL DO TO HELP SPUR ECONOMIC GROWTH?  The city really needs to look closer at people services. Growth has to be properly supported on multiple levels to include; economically, culturally and skill levels of all people.

ARE THERE ANY DECISIONS THE CURRENT CITY COUNCIL HAS MADE THAT YOU STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH? PLEASE LIMIT ANSWERS TO 3 ITEMS.  1) The lack of transparency in reprogramming funds; 2) The lack of a comprehensive agenda for young people; 3) Not resolving lawsuits that are pending against the city with citizens. I don't believe taxpayer money should be used to keep citizens in court.

WHAT ITEMS/PROGRAMS WOULD YOU CUT FROM THE CURRENT CITY BUDGET?  1) Reduce the administrative cost the city is charging from entitlement dollars that should be directed to increase people services.

DID YOU VOTE IN FAVOR OF OR AGAINST THE NEW PRE-K 4 S.A. PROGRAM? WHY? Yes, because I believe it will continue to support educational initiatives. I don't particularly like all the details of how things will operate, but I wouldn't deny resources that support education even though I don't like all the details. I think bringing resources to support children at an early age is an important strategy that promotes education at an early age for many more students.

WHAT MORE SHOULD THE CITY DO TO LOWER GANG ACTIVITY AND CRIME IN SAN ANTONIO?  Eliminate the gang injunction and develop a comprehensive crime prevention and reduction plan specific to each area of the District. Some areas need more lighting, some need more police patrol, and other parts need to create opportunity for youth.

ARE THERE ANY MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE CITY UNDERTAKE? Yes, there are several streets in District 2 that need repair. I would like to develop a comprehensive street improvement plan with a published calendar so the people can see when their streets are scheduled for improvement.
