Man shot in chest by ex's brother

Woman, brother sought by BCSO

SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County sheriff's deputies are searching for two people after a man was shot in the chest by his ex-girlfriend's brother.

The Sheriff's Office said the victim was shot just after 3 p.m. Monday in the 6700 block of Brothers Lane, near Oaks Chase on the Northeast Side.

Investigators said the ex-girlfriend and her brother came to the victim's home. They said the victim and the ex-girlfriend were arguing when the woman's brother pulled a gun and fired.

"He got engaged in the argument as well. We believe he pulled a gun and shot the woman's ex at least one time. Him and the woman then left the scene. We're currently looking for them right now," BCSO spokesman James Keith said.

The victim, in his 20s, was rushed to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition. No one else was injured in the shooting.

Investigators said at least one child was in the home at the time of the shooting.

Charges against the brother and sister are pending. The Sheriff's Office said the charges will depend on whether the victim lives.
