SAN ANTONIO – A man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound and three suspects are sought following a shooting Tuesday morning in a neighborhood north of downtown.
San Antonio police said the victim, a man in his mid-30s, was unloading items from the trunk of his car in the 1700 block of W. Mulberry Avenue when a white SUV pulled up and three people inside demanded cash.
The victim told the group he did not have any money and says he was shot by a passenger sitting in the backseat, SAPD officials said.
SAPD officers responded and searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.
"The car drove off and we called up Eagle to look for it. I guess they got a pretty good jump on us. We did get a pretty good description of the vehicle," said Sgt. Steve Priore with SAPD.
The victim was shot once in the leg, but his injuries were not considered life threatening, San Antonio police said.
SAPD officials said the suspects face charges of attempted aggravated robbery.
