Convicted sex offender arrested after violating parole

Louis Rios Jr., 42, convicted in September 2006

SAN ANTONIO – A convicted high-risk sex offender is back behind bars after violating the terms of his probation.

Louis Rios Jr., 42, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly failing to comply with the sex offender registration law.

Rios was convicted of indecency with a child in September 2006. His victim was a 7-year-old girl.

Rios is required to register annually until 2023 and he's required to tell police when he moves to a new address.

In early November, Rios reported that he would be staying at the Haven for Hope homeless shelter.

When an investigator went to check up on Rios, he learned Rios had never registered at the shelter.

Investigators were unable to locate Rios until he was arrested Tuesday.
