Man charged with injuring Terrell Hills police officers

William Penn Jones Jr. accused of injuring officers Tuesday

SAN ANTONIO – William Penn Jones Jr. has been charged after he is accused of leading Terrell Hills police on a chase and injuring two officers.

Police said Jones eluded two officers around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday after they discovered he had a warrant for his arrest in Harris County.

Two officers were injured as they tried to arrest Jones, who began fighting with the officers.

He was found with handcuffs on one wrist around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, while hiding out in his girlfriend's apartment. Jones was arrested without incident.

He has been charged with two counts of assault of a public servant causing bodily harm, two counts of burglary of a habitation by force and one count of evading arrest.

Two Terrell Hills officers injured in the attempted arrest have returned to work.
