He follows his sister-in-law, Illiana Archuleta, to prison. She was sentenced last week to 30 years in prison for her role in the case.

The family members, who ran a day care, abused the three children of Illiana Archuleta and her then-husband, Tim Archuleta.

According to an affidavit, the children were forced to sleep in a bathtub and were rarely fed. When they misbehaved, they were forced to eat a stick of butter, the affidavit said.

Tim Archuleta pleaded no contest in January to charges of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury by omission. He is awaiting sentencing.
