Firefighters respond to house fire in Converse

Fire was first reported just after 8 a.m Tuesday

CONVERSE, Texas – Multiple fire crews responded to an early morning house fire in Converse, officials said Tuesday.

The fire was reported just after 8 a.m. in the 300 block of Michelle Drive, found near Gibbs-Sprawl Road and Toepperwein Road.

Officials said the fire took place in an unoccupied residence with no working utilities. 

Firefighters at the scene said the fire was contained to the home but the house did sustain heavy damage.

Fire crews from Converse, Live Oak, Selma, Universal City and Gardendale all responded to the call.

The Fire Marshal's Office is presently investigating the cause.
