Police said the man in his late teens or early 20s was on his skateboard heading east to a bus stop near Second Baptist Church when a shirtless man driving a white four-door vehicle pulled over and demanded the victim hand over his board and phone. That's when, police said, the victim took off and ran -- before the man from the vehicle fired multiple shots in his direction.

Officers said neighbors nearby heard eight total shots, and that they found shell casings in the street.

The victim was not wounded in the shooting, police said.

So far no arrests have been made in the case.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP.
