Man accused of stealing jewelry from sleeping aunt

Edward Rodriguez allegedly pawned stolen items

SAN ANTONIO – Edward Rodriguez is accused of stealing jewelry from a sleeping family member, authorities said.

Police said he was at his aunt’s house for lunch, when she later went to take a nap. They said that’s when Rodriguez stole several gold rings, diamonds and a watch.

When Rodriguez’s aunt later questioned him about the items, he admitted to pawning them and selling them to workers near the house.

Rodriguez is charged with theft between $750 and $2,500.
