Cibolo soldier killed in Jordan

Cause of death is ‘noncombat related'

SAN ANTONIO – The Department of Defense announced Sunday that a soldier from Cibolo has died.

Spc. Isiah L. Booker died on Saturday in a “noncombat related incident” while serving in Jordan. His death remains under investigation, the Army said.

Booker was in the Middle East country as a part of Operation Inherent Resolve.

The soldier is not the first Texan killed during the operation. In November, Staff Sgt. James Moriarty, from Kerrville -- alongside two others soldiers -- died when their convoy came under fire while entering a Jordanian military base.
