Military veterans job fair to be held Thursday at Norris Conference Centers

More than 70 San Antonio-area employers to be at event

SAN ANTONIO – Disabled American Veterans and RecruitMilitary are hosting a veterans job fair Thursday, which will include more than 70 San Antonio-area employers ready to hire hundreds of military veterans and military spouses.

The event, which will be held at the Norris Conference Centers at 618 NW Loop 410, will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"DAV RecruitMilitary job fairs maintain a track record of helping veterans and their families find meaningful employment," president Peter Gudmundsson said. "Just last year, 52 percent of veteran job seekers expected to secure an interview following a DAV RecruitMilitary job fair. Employers were expected to extend as many as 40,300 interviews and more than 12,560 job offers."

Among the companies expected to be at the job fair are Allstate, BMW of North America, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the Department of Veteran Affairs, Farmers Insurance, the Federal Aviation Administration, First Command Financial Planning, GardaWorld, General Dynamics Mission Systems, the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Lockheed Martin Corp., Love's Travel Stops, Naval Intelligence Activity, PepsiCo, Schlumberger, the Texas Department of Transportation, Toyota Motor Engineering, USAA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Vinnell Arabia and Walgreens.
