Fatal East Side shooting leaves family emotional, SAPD searching for motive

Shooting reported in 100 block of DaFoste Avenue

SAN ANTONIO – As police investigate the city’s latest homicide, the victim’s family has been left to mourn.

The shooting was reported just before 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of DaFoste Avenue on San Antonio’s East Side.

The situation got a bit rowdy when the victim’s family and friends arrived at the scene. A car window was bashed in and police called for additional backup.

Things quickly cooled down and police continued to investigate who shot and killed a man in the front yard of a home.

A nearby SUV also had bullet holes in it. Police said they are not sure if the victim was in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

“The community is our greatest asset, so we are talking to neighbors, seeing what we can learn,” Lt. Scott Bell, with San Antonio police, said.

Another unknown -- police said the man did not live at the home and are trying to figure out why he was there in the first place.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP.
