SAFD says a storm front blew through and knocked down a tree in the alley behind the home, causing an electrical line to fall.

An outlet sparked from a power surge and spread up the wall and into the attic, SAFD said.

Firefighters were quickly able to take control of both fires. No injuries were reported.

Officials estimate the damages of the home to be around $10,000.

CPS Energy is at the scene working to restore power. SAFD expects families to be back home later tonight.

The Red Cross is helping one family that does not have AC tonight.
