SAN ANTONIO – A couple have been arrested, accused of breaking into a woman's home and stealing her husband's ashes among other personal belongings, San Antonio police said Friday.

Darlene Vasquez, 34, and Robert Garcia Jr., 54, have been taken into custody.

Police said the pair broke into the mobile home yesterday afternoon in the 13700 block of Judson Road and stole several items.

Josephine Dukett, the victim, said someone ransacked her home while she, her sister, daughter and two grandchildren were away, stealing more than $1,000 in rent money, a 55-inch television, a computer, pain medication and other belongings including the ashes.

A San Antonio Police Department detective said the pair will now be charged with burglary of a habitation.

The ashes were recovered, police said, but the family says they intend to move because of what happened.
