SAN ANTONIO – A driver was taken to the hospital after crashing his car Sunday morning leaving behind a trail of destruction on the city's West Side.
San Antonio police said the driver lost control of his vehicle in the 7800 block of Highway 90. He jumped a curb and hit a utility pole, splitting it in half, police said. The car flipped over several times and eventually landed in a nearby lot, police said.
The driver was taken to University Hospital. His condition is unknown.
Police believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m., the lanes of the access road were closed down until 6 a.m. while the scene was cleaned up.
