SAN ANTONIO – October is about to come to a close, but not before we spend one more Friday night running around South Texas on the BGC Road Trip.
Game 1: Junction Eagles (2-5, 1-0 District 14-2A-1) at Sabinal Yellow Jackets (6-1, 2-0 District 14-2A-1). Junction, fresh off a bye week, won its district opener two weeks ago to snap a four-game losing streak. Sabinal is coming off back-to-back wins and is currently first in District 14-2A-1.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Yellow Jacket Stadium.
Game 2: Llano Yellow Jackets (3-5, 0-2 District 13-4A-II) versus Hondo Owls (2-5, 1-0 District 13-4A-II). With two district games to go, you have to believe the Yellow Jackets will treat this one like a playoff game. The top four teams from each district advance to the playoffs and Llano is currently fourth in the five-team district. Hondo defeated Bandera last week, 41-8, to claim its district opener.
Kick is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Barry Field.
Game 3: Lockhart Lions (2-5, 0-4 District 26-5A) at Medina Valley Panthers (5-2, 3-1 District 26-5A). Lockhart has dropped four straight. Medina Valley won last week, edging out Seguin, 31-30. Medina Valley leads the all-time series 1-0, winning 20-17 in 2016. It’s homecoming for the Panthers.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Panther Stadium.
