SAN ANTONIO โ Mayor Ron Nirenberg, City Council and other city officials will hold a meeting via videoconference to discuss the cityโs response to COVID-19. Councilmembers will also hear about the cityโs preparedness to the coronavirus pandemic, which has infected 1,029 people in Bexar County as of Monday evening. The special meeting is being held via videoconference to โprotect the health of the public and limit the potential spread of COVID-19,โ according to the city. COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the new virus, stands for coronavirus disease 2019. The first case confirmed in the U.S. was in mid-January and the first case confirmed in San Antonio was in mid-February.
