Thatโs 42 million women in the United States who are survivors of child sexual abuse. โThe sexual abuse started when I was five. At age 47, this mother of five connected with the Younique Foundation โ a non-profit that brings survivors of child sexual abuse together. โWomen are ready to heal, that theyโre wanting to heal,โ said Shelaine Maxfield, president, board chair, and founder of The Younique Foundation. She and her husband Derek started The Younique Foundation โ initiating the discussion on something that is rarely talked about.
Southside ISD facing substitute teacher shortage amid COVID-19 pandemic
SAN ANTONIO โ Southside Independent School District is struggling to find substitute teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sharon Fuery, executive director of human resources and administration at Southside ISD, said there are several reasons substitute teachers are not returning this year. Northside ISD, Northeast ISD and San Antonio ISD said the substitute teacher shortage is not impacting their districts. North East ISD said it is always in need of substitute teachers and advertises for them year-round. San Antonio ISD said it is aware of the nationwide substitute teachers shortages, but it is not impacting its district.
Worsening opioid crisis overshadowed in presidential race
That has overshadowed debate over how to handle the nation's drug overdose crisis, which has contributed to the deaths of more than 470,000 Americans over the last two decades. Ohio, a battleground state in the presidential contest, is on track to have one of its deadliest years of opioid drug overdoses. The candidates have a chance to address opioid addiction with more substance in their final debate Thursday in Nashville. Among his priorities is expanding insurance coverage for drug addiction, including requiring insurers to cover rehabilitation services and mental health treatment. For example, his policies eased access to drugs that are meant to control opioid addiction, especially for people receiving health coverage through Medicaid.
San Antonio police search for girl, 17, reported missing
SAN ANTONIO โ San Antonio police are asking for the publicโs help in finding a 17-year-old girl reported missing. Police said Emily Elizabeth Stewart, who is also known as Emily Elizabeth Wellman, was last seen in the 2500 block of Northeast Loop 410. Stewart was last seen wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and had a blue backpack with her. Anyone who has seen Stewart or knows of her whereabouts is asked to call the San Antonio Police Departmentโs missing persons unit at 210-207-7660. Stewart and Storm could be poised to win more WNBA titles

WASHINGTON โ With crowds of admirers swelling outside, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was remembered Wednesday at the court by grieving family, colleagues and friends as a prophet for justice who persevered against long odds to become an American icon. Since Ginsburgโs death Friday evening, people have been leaving flowers, notes, placards and all manner of Ginsburg paraphernalia outside the court in tribute. On Friday, Ginsburg will lie in state at the Capitol, the first woman to do so and only the second Supreme Court justice after William Howard Taft. Martin Ginsburg died in 2010. Ginsburgโs death has added another layer of tumult to an already chaotic election year.
Woods to host TV match at Missouri public course he designed
The Payne's Valley Cup will be played Sept. 22, the Tuesday after the U.S. Open, at Payne's Valley Golf Course at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri. It will feature elements of the Ryder Cup, with a mix of foursomes, fourballs and singles. Mostly, though, it's a chance to show off the first public course of TGR Design.
