Suspect shoots at group of men

Man hit in face by ricochet bullet, suspect taken into custody

A group of men hanging outside an East Side auto business after hours were fired at by a man in truck, hitting one of the men in the face.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Monday at the intersection of North New Braunfels and Burleson at CD Auto Service.

San Antonio police investigating the shooting said five employees of the auto shop were hanging out after work when they saw a beige truck pull into a parking lot across the street. A woman and her dog were dropped off in the lot and the truck left.

About five minutes later, the men told police the truck returned and the driver fired several shots at the men standing outside the auto shop.

Investigators said they found at least 11 bullet shell casings in the lot and several bullet holes in the building.

One of the auto shop workers, a 46-year-old man, was hit in the eye by a bullet round that ricocheted off the building.

The victim was transported to SAMMC with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers found the suspect vehicle about 2 miles away in the 2300 block of Crockett where one suspect was taken into custody. A motive for the shooting was unknown.
