San Antonio police believe Ripley was drunk when she traveled in the wrong direction on the road, causing her van to hit Badillo's car head-on.

Both of them had to be rushed to a hospital for treatment. Badillo was taken by ambulance and later died at the hospital.

Ripley, meanwhile, was flown there by helicopter.  According to an arrest warrant affidavit, she remains in the hospital. Even though she is hospitalized, Ripley was arrested Monday.
