UTSA professor discusses solution to shutdown
Government Shutdown prepares to enter Day 3
SAN ANTONIO – Nothing changed after a 90-minute meeting between President Obama and members of both parties. Neither side would compromise or negotiate to end the government shutdown.
A University of Texas San Antonio professor believes there could be a solution though.
"We really don't know what's going to happen, but we think that the votes are there in the house to pass what's called a clean resolution to fund the budget," said Professor Steven Amberg.
Amberg believes it is up to Republican House Speaker John Boehner to present the bill, but says he thinks he is reluctant to do so because of pressure from his own party.
As Boehner holds his ground, White House officials believe the shutdown could last several days, maybe even weeks.
