Woman wounded by shots fired into West Side home

Victim shot in shoulder, listed in serious condition

SAN ANTONIO – A West Side woman is recovering from a gunshot wound in her shoulder that she suffered when someone fired shots into her home.

San Antonio police responded to the 100 block of S. San Ignacio Street around 1:15 a.m. Friday and found the injured woman.

According to officers at the scene, someone in a car fired eight shots into the home.  

At least one bullet hit the woman, who's in her 40s, in the back of her left shoulder, police said.

She was taken to University Hospital for treatment and was in serious but stable condition, police said.  

They did not have a description of the car involved in the shooting.
