Bear the big Doberman drops 30 more pounds

Bear now down to 109 pounds, down from 147 pounds

SAN ANTONIO – Bear the Doberman continues to drop big weight since KSAT first reported on him in July.

Bear had his weekly weigh-in and is now down to 109 pounds. That's about 30 pounds shy of his goal weight.

A picture of Bear was recently shared on the Bear the big Doberman Facebook page.

Animal Care Services began caring for Bear in late July when he was found as a stray and weighed 147 pounds.

Bear was taken to a foster home in Conroe after he was rescued by Lone Star Doberman Rescue.

His caregivers hope to get him down to 80 pounds and find him a permanent home.
