Woman hit, killed by vehicle on North Zarzamora identified

Investigators believe crash was accidental

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office has identified the name of the woman killed in an a traffic accident on the city's West Side.

Denise Colquitt, 41, was killed Wednesday when she was hit by a vehicle in the 600 block of N. Zarzamora.

Police said Colquitt walked into the street and failed to move out of the way of traffic.

The driver of the vehicle that hit her and several other witnesses stopped to render aid.

No charges are expected.

A woman in her 20s died after she was hit by a vehicle Wednesday night about 9 p.m. in the 600 block of North Zarzamora Street.

Police interviewed the driver of the car at the scene, but they believe it was an accident. They said the victim walked into the street and she just stood there, not moving out of the way for traffic.

Police said the driver of the car didn’t see the woman until the last second and hit her head-on. The driver and several other witnesses stopped and called police.

The woman died at the scene from her injuries.

Police are waiting for the medical examiner’s office to identify the woman. No charges are expected against the driver.
