2 people arrested in homicide on East Houston Street

Arrest affidavit suggests more arrests likely

SAN ANTONIOUPDATE: Gruesome new information has been released about the murder of a man who was found dead last week inside a home on East Houston Street.

Ramon Rivera was found dead Nov. 9 with severe head wounds.

An arrest affidavit said Henry Krueger is being charged with capital murder in this case. Royce Reese Jr. was arrested Tuesday and also charged with capital murder.

"I didn't do it. They're trying to frame me for something I didn't do," Reese said to the media as he was taken to jail Tuesday.

Reese and Krueger are accused of killing Rivera on Nov. 8.

An arrest affidavit said someone involved with the crime told police Reese used a small ax to kill Rivera. It also said Reese, Krueger and a third man originally went to the house to collect money from Rivera and a fight broke out.

Police said afterward, Reese and Krueger took off in Rivera's Chevy Blazer, which was loaded with tools, clothing and other items that had been stolen from Rivera's home.

The affidavit listed several other people involved in events surrounding Rivera's murder, suggesting there may be more arrests to come.

Rivera’s body was found inside a home on East Houston Street last Thursday. Investigators said he had been hit repeatedly on the head with some object.

Rivera’s vehicle and other property were taken from the scene. Police said they later found the SUV and stolen properties at two separate locations, which they were able to link to Reese.
