Converse police on Thursday arrested Elvin Armas, 24, on a charge of murder after finding him at a job site in San Antonio.

An arrest affidavit for Armas says that investigators got a call from a concerned citizen who was contacted by Armas, saying that he told the victim he didn’t have money to give her after the two had sex.

The caller told police that Armas said the victim pulled out a knife and stabbed him.

That’s when Armas told the caller that he grabbed the knife and cut the woman, but Converse police said Armas did not have any injuries.

The victim, whom the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office had not positively identified as of Friday afternoon, was found around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday lying outside doorways at Towne East Village apartments at 9060 FM 78.

She had cuts to her throat and upper leg and her face, and her hands and feet were covered in blood, the affidavit says.

Officers followed a trail of blood from the victim to a Lexus parked in the parking lot, where they found a back door of the car slightly open.

Converse police were alerted to the crime when a woman called 911, and said she heard a female knocking at her apartment door.

Officers were told that someone heard the victim screaming for help.

The citizen who called police with information about what led up to the crime told officers where they might find Armas.

He is an undocumented immigrant from Honduras, according to Converse police.
