Investigators determining what caused downtown high-rise fire

Air-conditioning units on fire, not connected to any power sources

SAN ANTONIO – Fire investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at a high-rise downtown Monday afternoon.

First responders received calls around 2 p.m. for a fire at a building on East Houston Street, which is across the street from the Buckhorn Saloon.

A spokeswoman for the San Antonio Fire Department said firefighters found 10 air-conditioning units on fire on the fourth floor of the building.

The units were all in boxes and not connected to any power sources.

No one was injured and firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly.
