2 arrested in connection with West Side shooting

Man critically wounded in fight between two families at El Paso, SW 21st St.

SAN ANTONIO – Police arrested two men in connection with a shooting that left a man in critical condition.

Julius Isaiah Barron, 18, and Christian Angel Lozano, 20, are charged with aggravated assault in the Wednesday night shooting that police said was the result of a fight between two families at the intersection of El Paso and Southwest 21st Street.

According to a police report, two groups of males were fighting around 8:20 p.m. when someone pulled out a gun and shot Glen Hector Montellano in the head while he was sitting in a car. Montellano was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

Police said the fight pitted a group of 20 people against five or six people. Montellano was with the smaller group, police said.
