Woman facing DWI charges in head-on collision that injured 3

Youngest victim is 12 years old

SAN ANTONIO – A driver was arrested Saturday night after San Antonio police said she caused a head-on collision that sent three people to the hospital.

According to police, the woman driving a white SUV swerved into oncoming traffic on Old O'Connor Road and crashed into a red vehicle with three people inside.

The 49-year-old driver of the red vehicle was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center, police said. 

The two passengers, 12 and 14, were taken to University Hospital with multiple injuries. According to police, the 12-year-old was not wearing a seat belt and had to be cut out of the vehicle. 

The SUV driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.
