SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Fire Department is investigating the cause of a house fire on the Southwest Side on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters said someone reported the blaze just before 12:30 p.m. at a home in the 3000 block of La Rosa St., near Somerset Road.

Firefighters arrived to find a light-to-moderate amount of smoke coming from the house.

The fire started in a back bathroom and flames spread to the hallway and bedrooms. Most of the damage was contained to the bathroom because the bedrooms’ doors were closed, according to SAFD.

Firefighters estimated the amount of damage to about $60,000.

No one was at home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
