SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage will wrap up their four-game, season-opening homestand this weekend when they face the league's newest team, the Colorado Eagles, a team that has yet to claim a victory.

The Eagles will first take on the Rampage Friday and then Saturday at the AT&T Center.

This season, the Rampage have looked pretty good in their first two games.

San Antonio won 4-0 in its home opener over the Grand Rapids Griffins last week but lost Tuesday by one goal to the Milwaukee Admirals.

The seven goals scored in their first two games of the season are the most they have scored since 2015.

For the Rampage, there's been a lot of adjusting, considering most of the players are new to San Antonio since the team has switched affiliates, going from feeding players to the Colorado Avalanche to working solely with the St. Louis Blues.

So far this year, the new squad is not only enjoying the hot start but is also impressed with the fan support in South Texas.

"It's been awesome," Rampage forward Nolan Stevens said Thursday to KSAT 12 Sports. "Down in Texas, you don't expect a hockey, too big of a hockey crowd, but the fans have been awesome. I've kind of been blown away by the support. I'm impressed."

Rampage forward Jordan Nolan said he did not know what to expect when he made the move to Texas.

"Once I got familiar with the area, it's been great. The rink has been great, the atmosphere has been great. I really think we are going to enjoy it here," Nolan said.

Many familiar faces have been coming back this week to the AT&T Center.

On Tuesday, fan favorite and former Rampage forward Rocco Grimaldi returned as a member of the Milwaukee Admirals. In fact, it was Grimaldi who broke the 2-2 tie in the third period which led Milwaukee's victory.

Now, it's the Colorado Eagles' turn to return some former Rampage players.

The Eagles feature 16 players who have played as members of the Rampage in the past, including another fan favorite, Andrew Agozzino, who led San Antonio last season in goals and points.

After this weekend, the Rampage will play four straight road games before returning to the AT&T Center to take on the San Jose Barracuda Oct. 26, which will be the debut of the Los Chimuelos on Dia de los Muertos night.
