SAN ANTONIO – A local woman trying to run across Loop 410 was killed after she was hit by at least two vehicles early Monday morning, San Antonio police said.

The incident occurred just before 5:30 a.m. on westbound Loop 410 between Harry Wurzbach and Nacogdoches Road.

According to police, the woman, believed to be in her 60s, was attempting to run across the highway from the eastbound side of Loop 410 into the westbound lanes when she was struck.

Investigators said they did not find any ID on the woman at the scene. It remains unclear as to why the woman was trying to cross the highway.

Police diverted all traffic to the access road as emergency crews worked. Two lanes of westbound Loop 410 at Harry Wurzbach has since reopened.
