UPDATE, 12:06 a.m.: With 100% of precincts reporting in Bexar County, Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Campos has beaten Jennifer Ramos and secured her place on the November ballot.

All told, Campos had more than 56% of the vote, leaving Ramos with just over 43%. Campos beat Ramos by 923 total votes.

Campos will faceoff against Republican George B. Garza in November. The seat was vacated by state Rep. Roland Gutierrez, who is running for state Senate District 19.

Background:

Ramos received 43% of the vote and Campos received 46% of the vote during the March 3 primary. The winner of the runoff will take on George B. Garza, the only Republican running for the seat in the Democratic-leaning district.
