San Antonio police use Taser on man running into traffic

Man reported running into traffic on Loop 410 near Starcrest

San Antonio police used a Taser to stop a man from running in and out of traffic on the Loop 410 access road.

Police were called to Loop 410 near Starcrest around 11:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a man who was darting in an out of traffic on foot.

An officer told the man to stop, but the man fled and attempted to jump over the guardrail onto the main lanes of Loop 410.

Police shocked the man with a Taser and pulled him to the grass near the sidewalk.

Paramedics treated him at the scene, and he was taken to Northeast Baptist Hospital. Police have not said why the man was running in and out of traffic.
