Injuries reported at chemical spill in east San Antonio

Hydrochloric acid spilled at building at 3400 East Commerce

SAN ANTONIO – Two people were treated at the scene of a chemical spill Friday morning on the city's East Side.

According to San Antonio Fire Department spokesman Christian Bove, hydrochloric acid was spilled as it was being transported from one container to another at a building in the 3400 block of East Commerce.

The spill was reported at 10:25 a.m.

Two workers from a nearby business -- Walton Signage -- were treated at the scene for nausea and headaches as a result of the fumes.
