SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters spent Friday morning battling a large fire at a North Side apartment complex.
The two-alarm fire broke out just after 10 a.m. at a complex in the 900 block of Bitters Road, just off Highway 281.
San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood said 24 units were affected in one building. He said 22 of those were occupied and many residents were evacuated for their safety.
Hood said investigators are still working to determine what started the blaze.
There have been no injuries reported in connection with the fire.
Hood said Bitters will likely be closed at Heimer for some time on Friday while firefighters continue to tamp down hot spots.
