TxDot survey seeks commuters advice

Spokesman: Construction congestion is projected through 2015

SAN ANTONIO – With Texas Department of Transportation funds set at a premium and construction costs always on an upward trajectory, TxDoT tweeted out a survey to get the pulse of San Antonio drivers.

"It's just about trying to figure out commute patterns and see if we can think outside the box and improve those commutes," said Josh Donat, spokesman for TxDoT.

The survey's questions cover everything from time to routes and any interests in alternative ways to get around town, from sharing a ride to public transportation.

Over 200 TxDoT district office employees are also filling out the survey to capture a different perspective.

"Next thing you know, we are leading the way. We are walking the walk as well as talking the talk about finding some alternative ways to address congestion," Donat said.

There are several ongoing construction projects such as Wurzbach Parkway, and many other future projects are slated for this year. Drivers won't see the end to traffic congestion just yet.

"Congestion problems can't all be solved by construction," Donat said.

If you would like to take the survey and give your opinion just head to TxDoT's website
