SAN ANTONIO – A suspect opened fire on a West Side home early Tuesday morning, wounding a woman who was sleeping inside, San Antonio police said.

Investigators said it appeared the shooter used an AK-47 to fire at the home.

Bullets hit the home about 15 times, as well as striking a woman who was sleeping inside and the car in the driveway. Police said the woman's injuries were not life-threatening.

A relative told an investigator the couple had just moved to the home from the Rio Grande Valley about two days ago.

She says a neighbor told her the house had been shot at just a couple of weeks ago, although that had not been confirmed by San Antonio police.
