Memorial held on anniversary of student killed by UIW officer

The family has filed a lawsuit against UIW, that case is still pending

SAN ANTONIO – Sunday marked two years since University of Incarnate Word student Cameron Redus was killed by a university officer.

Tonight a few dozen friends and loved ones held a candlelight vigil for Redus on the UIW campus.

Redus was shot to death by Corporal Chris Carter, who was later cleared by a grand jury.

A mass was held earlier in the day to memorialize Redus.

The family has filed a lawsuit against UIW, that case is still pending.
