Spurs to open regular season at home against Timberwolves

Spurs-Wolves to start season Oct. 18 at AT&T Center

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs announced on Thursday they will open the 2017-18 regular season at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Spurs and Wolves are scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 from AT&T Center. The game will be shown nationally on ESPN.

The Spurs are coming off back-to-back 60-win regular seasons and Minnesota is expected to contend for a  top four playoff spot in the Western Conference this year.

The NBA also announced its Christmas Day schedule which does not include San Antonio game for the first time in the past few years.

The full 2017-18 NBA regular season schedule is being finalized and expected to be announced next week.
