Two Brandeis volleyball players are best friends and TCU bound together
Brandeis High School juniors Carlee Pharris and Jalyn Gibson have been best friends since they were 11 years old. The two dreamed of playing college volleyball together, and soon that will come true for the class of 2022 TCU commits. “They’re great leaders for being young players,” said Williams. “They’re best friends. SAN ANTONIO – In March, Harlan senior Kiana Fallaha and head coach Monica Gonzales traveled with a number of volleyball players from around the San Antonio area to Colorado for a national club tournament. I didn’t know that junior year might be my last high school season.”That fear and uncertainty stuck with volleyball players for months. As a result, volleyball teams had a tough time maintaining even a semi-regular training regimen. Every student-athlete was required to present a completed version of this form before they were allowed to participate in the volleyball team's workout. Class 1A-4A volleyball teams would start up as scheduled in mid-August, but Class 5A and 6A teams were now forced to wait until September to take the court.

UIL delays football, volleyball seasons, announces new Risk Management Guidelines
At Mondays Texas High School Coaches Association meeting, the UIL did announce that cancelling the season was not an option, but refrained from providing further information. Schools in the Class 1A - 4A bracket will restart practices on August 3, while Class 5A and 6A schools begin on September 7. It is unclear exactly how this will impact their season schedule. Schools are now required by the TEA to develop a means of mitigating the transmission of COVID-19 among the student body. If they have any symptoms, they must report them to their school on a specific document.
