Homeland Security investigating after 10 people jump out of SUV during traffic stop, BCSO says
SAN ANTONIO โ Officials are investigating a possible human trafficking case after 10 people jumped out of an SUV during a traffic stop late Wednesday. According to BCSO, a deputy in a traffic unit attempted to stop the SUV for speeding. Ten people, including the driver, jumped out of the SUV and ran off, deputies said. Three people were detained, but the others were not found by BCSO, which deployed aerial assistance. Homeland Security Investigations is now handling the investigation, according to BCSO.

The Border Patrol said its agents were not pursuing the vehicle before the wreck. The crash happened in an area that became a major route for illegal border crossings in the late 1990s after heightened enforcement in San Diego pushed migrants to more remote areas.
Hospital: SUV carrying 27 crashes with semitruck, killing 15 in California
Authorities say a semi-truck crashed into an SUV carrying multiple people on a Southern California highway, killing at least 13 people and injuring others. Another person died at a hospital, California Highway Patrol Chief Omar Watson said. Watson said the SUV only had front seats โ the middle and back seats had been removed. It wasn't immediately clear whether the SUV was carrying migrants who had crossed the border, ferrying farmworkers to fields, or was being used for some other purpose. AdA California Highway Patrol report said the SUV entered an intersection directly in front of the big-rig, which hit the left side of the SUV.

Police said an officer saw a white car traveling westbound on Culebra run a red light and hit a white SUV traveling southbound on Callaghan. The SUV careened, hit a light post and erupted in flames, police said. San Antonio police on Tuesday released footage of the fiery crash.
SAPD: Motorcyclist, 48, killed after being hit by SUV that was โdriving erratically' on Northeast Side
SAN ANTONIO โ The San Antonio Police Department is searching for the driver of an SUV who was โdriving erraticallyโ before fatally striking a motorcyclist on the Northeast Side Monday evening. Officers arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m. in the 13200 block of OโConnor Road to find the motorcyclist, identified as 48-year-old Phillip Warren Snow III, injured. Police said Snow was riding a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on OโConnor Road as the black SUV, which was reportedly โdriving erratically,โ was heading southbound. The driver of the SUV did not stop to render aid and fled eastbound on Larkdale, police said. Once located, the driver of the SUV will face a charge of failure to stop and render aid, resulting in death.
